Flow meter fault analysis

(1) When the indicated value of the flow control instrument system reaches its minimum, first check the on-site detection instrument. If it is normal, the fault will be displayed on the instrument. When the on-site detection instrument indicates the minimum, check the opening of the regulating valve. If the opening of the regulating valve is zero, it is often a fault between the regulating valve and the regulator. When the on-site detection instrument indicates the minimum and the regulating valve opening is normal, the cause of the malfunction is likely due to insufficient system pressure, system pipeline blockage, pump failure, medium crystallization, improper operation, and other reasons. If there is a malfunction in the instrument, the cause may be: the orifice differential pressure flowmeter may be blocked in the positive pressure conduit; Differential pressure transmitter positive pressure chamber leakage; Mechanical flow meters are caused by gear jamming or clogged filter screens.
(2) When the indicated value of the flow control instrument system reaches its maximum, the detection instrument often indicates the maximum. At this time, the valve can be manually controlled to open or close. If the flow rate can decrease, it is generally caused by process operation reasons. If the flow value cannot decrease, it is caused by the instrument system. Check whether the regulating valve of the flow control instrument system is activated; Check whether the instrument measurement pressure system is normal; Check if the instrument signal transmission system is functioning properly.
(3) The indicated value of the flow control instrument system fluctuates frequently, and the control can be changed to manual. If the fluctuation decreases, it is due to instrument related reasons or inappropriate PID control parameters of the instrument. If the fluctuation is still frequent, it is caused by process operation reasons.
